Mullah, Can You Spare a Dime?
November 30, 2007 – 1:53 amAbout a month ago, I wrote a piece for this blog titled: “Why Would Anyone Outside Abu Dhabi Worry about Sovereign Funds?” In that piece I indicated that in a market full of unbelievably clever investors, Sheiks from Abu Dhabi should be welcomed. I suggested that while they might be Excellencies, they also might not be the brightest lights on the Christmas tree (well in their case, the New Year bush.) Such investors have their uses, y’all.
On Wednesday, November 28th Abu Dhabi invested $US 7.5 million in the equity of Citgroup. I rest my case. For more, click below.
